I begin my process by looking at Instagram first under the nature and design hashtags. I will usually spend 5-10 minutes and just sift there to see what images have been posted. From there I screen shot somethings that caught my eye. Once I have many images, I go through them and determine which ones I can paint without copying the original.
With whatever I paint, I try to not make it look exactly like the original picture so that I can put my own spin on it. I use each image as a reference and make my own. In this case I am painting a puffer fish, three pots of plants and some dandelions.

PAINTING A BIRD AND PERFECTION
I have learned in life that nothing is ever perfect. I don't even believe in the word called perfection. In my opinion, there is no such thing. Something will always be just a little off and I dig that. In this video I talk about perfection, while painting a bird and two lizards.

30 DAY SKETCHBOOK CHALLENGE
Recently, I challenged myself of a 30 day sketchbook challenge. Once a day for 30 days I draw/write/paint in a DIY sketchbook. Think of it as a way of journaling.
I can't sit and write for hours, but I can sit and paint for days. I will do an updated video about this challenge and how I fared etc.
